Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot program (AIPP) is one way you can immigrate to Canada as a permanent resident. Canada’s government designed the AIPP to help employers in the Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island) fill jobs that employers cannot fill locally. Employers can hire candidates from inside and outside Canada under high skilled, intermediate skilled, or international graduates. The candidates can apply for work permits while waiting for the permanent resident application.

To qualify under the international graduate program, you must have completed at least a two-year post-secondary credential within 24 months before applying and have lived in the province for 16 to 24 months before graduation.

Requirements

  • Canadian high school or post-secondary educational credential or equivalent foreign credential verified by ECA within the last five years
  • At least CLB 4 in English or French
  • At least one year paid, full-time work experience within the last three years
  • At least 12.5% of the low-income cut-off, if you are not already working in Canada
  • For the international graduate and high skilled programs, the job offer must be for at least one year and must be permanent for the intermediate skilled program
  • Applicants must intend to live in the community
