Study Permit

Annually, Canada welcomes thousands of students from across the globe, as Canada boasts some of the world’s best educational institutions. In addition to Canada’s world-class educational institutions, students find it easier to transition to permanent residency if they decide to live in Canada. To be eligible for a study permit, you must:

• Be accepted to a program of more than six months in duration by a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
• Intend to study and return after your studies
• Provide proof of financial support for yourself and any accompanying family members
• Pass a medical examination
• Provide a police clearance (character) check for every country you have lived in for six consecutive months since the age of 18
