Parents and Grandparent SuperVisa
The parents and grandparents sponsorship program application for sponsorship is randomly selected. As a result, most people do not get the chance to reunite with their parents or grandparents through that route, so IRCC introduced the SuperVisa program. SuperVisa is a 10-year visa, and it allows the applicant to stay in Canada for up to two years at a time.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a letter of invitation from a child or grandchild who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- The child or grandchild must show proof of financial stability in the form of bank statements, NOA, pay stubs, a letter from employer, property documents, et cetera
- Applicants must be criminally and medically admissible
- Applications must have Canadian medical coverage of $100,000 for at least one year, starting from the date of entry
- With this visa, applicants cannot bring their dependents
